The State Government carries the cost of buying sugar and sending it to ration shops. According to department sources, if the state government is ready to bear the burden of sugar subsidy, then he will have to bear the burden of Rs 150-200 crore per year.


According to an estimate, 6033 metric tonnes of quota is released annually for ration shops. For the month of April, sugar quota has not been released by the Food and Civil Supplies Department.


The Central Government has decided to close the subsidy on sugar from April. In this case, sugar quota has not been released for ration shops. Now the new government of the state will take a decision on this issue.
